Solo tour 2009- At the solo shows Elie sings and plays Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Soprano Saxophone and Cajon. He uses a Boomerang sampler to create loops in real time. "As a commited improviser I want to access all the musics I've been exposed to throughout my life, growing up on the rock of Gibraltar we listened to lots of Flamenco, Middle Eastern, Sephardic music, Rock and many other musics that found their way to this part of the Mediterranean. Together with the time I spent living in Israel and living in the U.S. and playing with so many great musicians, I have a lot to draw from. I'm interested in unifying all these experiences into an honest and personal message, with the hope that it will resonate with the listener."

Elie featured in The Wandering Muse, a documentary about Jewish Musicians in New York and the Diaspora by Montreal based film maker Tamas Wormser . Check out a clip and the site here; http://www.thewanderingmuse.net/musicians/elie-massias

Banda Sonora returns to NY

Elie and drummer Yaaki Levy are back from their duo tour thro' Spain, Gibraltar and Israel. They played 12 concerts of improvised music and song. "It was very exciting to go on stage every night and simply play music without previously planning or discussing anything. Every night was different and every audience inspired a different music and energy, we set out to capture the music in the moment and the audience's reaction was remarkable, the experience totally exceded our expectations. We plan to do some more touring together very soon."
